Office Administration
Volunteers are always needed in the SOAR office to help with special mailings,
archiving, filing, organizing and maintaining the office during staff vacations.
Having knowledge of computers is helpful but not always necessary.
Volunteer Recruitment
We are looking for someone who has developed or would like to develop
a structured recruiting program. Volunteer recruiting also consists of
keeping your eyes and ears open to friends and neighbors in your condo
or apartment who might be interested in volunteering, and directing them
to the website to fill out an application.
CAPS Representative
Two to three rotating volunteers are need to attend the CAPS meetings
and provide a report to the SOAR office.
Website Maintenance
We are always looking for talented people with graphic design or web design
skills to help with updating our web site.
Garden Maintenance and Design
We are always looking for volunteers interested in working in the Lake Shore Park Garden.
Streeterville Neighborhood Plan
We seek volunteers who have drawing or rendering skills or those who aren't afraid to draw, who are willing to walk neighborhoods and document existing conditions, and who are willing and able to attend community meetings and to provide input and support at those meetings.
Neighbors Action
We seek volunteers who have experience or interest in real estate and urban development, planning and design, legal issues in zoning and planning, and/or maintaining the quality of life in Streeterville.
Other opportunities exist for volunteers for the following task forces:
- Development and Fundraising
Each SOAR Task Force should have some information specifying its needs/wants,
how much of a time commitment is needed in order to be an asset, how
often it meets and any other pertinent information a volunteer might
need in order to determine if he/she can devote time to a task force.
