Chicago Shakespeare Theater

Professional theater dedicated to the works of William Shakespeare. Founded in 1986, the company moved to Navy Pier in 1999. The Courtyard Theater consists of 510 seats on three levels that wrap around the courtyard theater's thrust stage—with only nine rows separating the most distant seat from the actors on stage.

Lookingglass Theatre

On June 14, 2003 , Lookingglass Theatre Company opened the doors of its new home in the Water Tower Water Works building at Michigan and Chicago avenues.   The project involved the conversion of existing space within this landmark to a flexible, state-of-the-art performance facility housing two theaters and associated public and performer support space such as lobbies, dressing rooms and concession areas.

Museum of Contemporary Art

The MCA exhibits painting, sculpture, photography, video and film, and performance created since 1945. It includes a terraced sculpture garden and has a great view of Lake Michigan .

The Museum hosts a Farmers' Market on the MCA Plaza, Tuesdays from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., June 15 through October 19, 2004

Pritzker Military Library

The Pritzker Military Library is a private, non-partisan research library located at 610 North Fairbanks Court in the Streeterville neighborhood of Chicago. The mission of the Pritzker Military Library is to acquire and maintain an accessible collection of materials and develop appropriate programs focusing on the Citizen Soldier in the preservation of democracy. 

The 5,000 sq. ft. facility features over 26,000 historical, reference, biographical and rare books on military subjects, over 800 original antique military posters and prints, and other military artifacts from private donors and the collection of COL (IL) James N. Pritzker, ARNG (Ret.).
